UPDATES for TRY-OUTS!

Hi Everyone!


2012-2013 FCHS Cheerleading CONSTITUTION & BYLAWS and teacher recommendation forms will be available on www.classconnection.org/shorterk on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Please print the information, read it with parents/guardians, sign and initial pages, and put in a decorated folder. (Detailed instructions are included in the Constitution and Bylaws). Information below is still the same.


1.) Interest Meeting: for all current FCHS students interested in trying out for cheerleading, please meet in rm. Q201 at 2:30pm Thursday, April 12. We will discuss requirements, fees, try-out procedures, and answer any questions you may have.

2.) Mandatory Parent Meeting: All students, planning on trying out for cheerleading must attend this meeting with a parent or guardian on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 5pm. It will be held in the FCHS gym. This includes students who will be incoming freshmen in August.

3.) 2012-2013 Cheerleading Try-outs: Clinic will be held May 21st-May 23rd from 5pm-7pm. Try-outs will be on Thursday, May 24th at 5pm. Clinic and Try-outs will be held in the gym. Please visit this blog for updates and any date changes.

A few important Things to know for Try-outs

Constitution & Bylaws, and Application will be made available in the next 2 weeks. Every student trying out must print and complete this and put it into a decorated 3-prong folder with their name, grade next year on it, and team they're trying out for (JV or Varsity)



  • Every student trying out must have a current physical to participate in clinic and try-outs.




  • Every student trying out must have a 2.5 GPA or better. A copy of student's last report card must be in the folder.




  • If a student has any class 2, 3, or 4 referrals, they will not be eligible for 2012-2013 FCHS cheerleading.




  • Every student trying out will be required to run a mile in 8minutes or less.




  • If the student makes the squad, a $250 fee will be required the night of try-outs and another $250 before the end of the school year. (Explanation of cost will be discussed at parent meeting.)



  • There is a $5 cost to watch try-outs. Please inform family and friends of this.
